How the timing works
The clock starts on your very first click, not the moment the page loads — so there's no rush to react instantly, and no wasted fraction of a second before the test technically begins. From there it's a straightforward count: total clicks divided by the chosen duration gives clicks per second, averaged over the whole window rather than just your fastest burst. A short click sound plays on every tap as extra feedback — the speaker icon next to the duration buttons turns it off if you'd rather click in silence.
Common questions
When does the timer actually start?
On your very first click, not when the page loads or when you pick a duration — so there's no rush to click the instant you're ready, and no wasted time counting down before you can start.
What's a good CPS score?
Casual clicking is typically 4-6 clicks per second. Experienced players using techniques like jitter-clicking or butterfly-clicking can reach 10-14+ CPS, though those techniques take practice and aren't just raw finger speed.
Why do longer durations usually show a lower CPS?
An initial burst of fast clicking is easier to sustain for 1 second than for 10, since finger fatigue and rhythm consistency matter more over longer windows — CPS is an average over the whole test, not just your fastest moment.
